B. ALLOCATION PROPOSAL
GENERAL FUND ALLOCATIONS ARE TENTATIVE. THE AMOUNTS ALLOCATED MAY BE REDUCED BY EXECUTIVE RESTRICTIONS AND/OR INTERNAL REDUCTIONS.
STUDENT TRANSPORTATION, 19097
1. Purpose
The Student Services Transportation Branch is responsible for the statewide program planning, budgeting, implementing, enforcing and evaluating of student transportation services for eligible public school students. Services for eligible students include for both regular and special education.
2. Rationale for Allocation
All funds for the Branch is centrally located to support transportation services on all islands. This will allow for cost efficient purchases, management of funds, and centralized services to all Transportation Officers, Contractors and Schools.
3. Guidelines for Implementation
Funds will be expended in accordance with the following: IDEA, Section 504; Section 286-181, HRS; Section 302A-406, HRS; Section 302A-407, HRS; HAR Title 8, Chapters 27, 28, 53, and 56; HAR Title 19, Chapter 143; and contractual agreements between the State of Hawaii and School Bus Contractors.
