B. ALLOCATION PROPOSAL
GENERAL FUND ALLOCATIONS ARE TENTATIVE. THE AMOUNTS ALLOCATED MAY BE REDUCED BY EXECUTIVE RESTRICTIONS AND/OR INTERNAL REDUCTIONS.
COMMUNICATIONS, 33027
1. Purpose
To provide for funds for office expenses and salaries for the staff in the Communications Office within the Office of the Superintendent.
2. Rationale for Allocation
The Communications Office responds to requests from the public, media, policy makers and other public school constituencies relating to all matters of public education in Hawaii. It issues news releases, provides interpretation on often complicated issues pertaining to Hawaii's statewide school system, facilitates complaint resolution, and delivers crucial emergency communication services.
3. Guidelines for Implementation
Funds are to be expended in accordance with guidelines found in the "FMS User Policy & Process Flow Guide," personnel rules and regulations, and procurement law.
4. Allocation of Resources
$135,323 in "A" funds is allocated for the salaries of the staff in the Communications Office, ORG. ID. 027000. The following are the positions housed under ORG. ID. 027000:
