B. ALLOCATION PROPOSAL
GENERAL FUND ALLOCATIONS ARE TENTATIVE. THE AMOUNTS ALLOCATED MAY BE REDUCED BY EXECUTIVE RESTRICTIONS AND/OR INTERNAL REDUCTIONS.
AUTISM AMD DD/MR YOUTH, 15179
1. Purpose
To assure that student learning takes place for children with autism spectrum disorder within an educational, social and emotional context that supports each students success in achieving the Hawaii Content and Performance Standards II.
2. Rationale for Allocation
The Department of Education (DOE) is procuring services for children with autism spectrum disorder through contracts with provider agencies. These contracts will ensure continuity of services from the Department of Health to DOE. This allocation represents 30 percent of the total allocation and being allocated based on a weighted formula of student needs.
3. Guidelines for Implementation
$7,000,000 in "B" funds is allocated to the Districts to cover contract expenses associated with services for children with autism.
