SCHOOL TO WORK TRANSITION CENTERS, 15112

1. Purpose
To assist students in making realistic career and employment decisions. The Transition Centers accomplish this by empowering youth with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to successfully make the transition from adolescence to adulthood.

2. Rationale for Allocation
$58,620 is being allocated equally to Aiea, Castle, Farrington, Hilo, Kailua, Kaimuki, McKinley, Nanakuli, Pahoa, Waialua, Waianae, and Waipahu High schools to support Transition Center activities. $3,000 is allocated to Waipahu High School Transition Center to support expenses related informational presentations at meetings and conferences.

3. Guidelines for Implementation
a. Funds allocated to the schools should be used to help students transition from high school into post-secondary education/training or employment. Fund may be used for educational supplies, instructional materials, and equipment.

b. Funds are to be expended in accordance with the guidelines found in the "FMS User Policy & Process Flow Guide" and procurement law.
