SCHL RENOVATION, IDEA & TECHNOLOGY FY02, 18017

1. Purpose
The Hawaii Dept. of Education received Federal Grant fund to assist schools with school repairs and renovations and provide funds for technology activities to supplement the school renovations and repairs. Applications for the Technology part authorized under the grant were accepted until May 17, 2002. Applications were reviewed by a committee and selection of the applications for the grant was made on June 7, 2002.

2. Rationale for Allocation
Funds are allocated to the selected applicants for the technology activities related to school renovation and repairs. These applications were selected based on the selection criteria for the grant applications.

3. Guidelines for Implementation
a). Funds are to be expended in accordance with the pertinent federal laws, regulations, and guideline as well as the "FMS User Policy & Process Flow Guide", the state personnel rules and regulations, and the state procurement laws.
b). A Competitive grant application process has been completed. 25 out of 31 schools or complexes will be awarded funding for their project/proposals
